CAREL awarded for sustainability and remuneration
CAREL has ranked at the top among mid-cap companies for remuneration mechanisms and sustainability governance. This recognition comes from the Corporate Governance Observatory of The European House - Ambrosetti, which analyses and promotes excellence in governance systems for Italian companies.
With a score of 9.40 out of 10 in the 2024 EG Index, CAREL secured first place among non-financial mid-cap companies for remuneration mechanisms, and it was ranked among the top five mid-cap companies, with a score of 8.40, in the field of Sustainability Governance. One of the factors contributing to this distinguished positioning was CAREL’s first Sustainability Plan, summarised under the concept "Driven by the Future - Sustainability in Action”, which facilitated the creation of a Governance structure with specific ESG mandates. This structure is tasked with setting objectives and metrics while elevating Sustainability and Governance issues to the highest level of corporate management.
Francesco Nalini, CEO of the CAREL Group, commented: “This recognition demonstrates our ongoing commitment to transparent governance aligned with sustainability objectives. The result from the Corporate Governance Observatory reflects our long-term vision aimed at creating value for all our stakeholders, through remuneration policies aligned with the best international standards and a concrete, measurable approach to sustainability.”
Since 2004, The European House - Ambrosetti has established a permanent Corporate Governance Observatory to provide concrete proposals and guidance for promoting excellence in governance systems for Italian companies.
The Observatory serves as a benchmark in Italy, offering a permanent platform for analysis and discussion of challenges and best practices. Its objective is to provide practical proposals to foster excellence in governance systems for both listed and non-listed Italian companies.
